Nëse

Nëse ist eine Videoarbeit zum Thema 'Sehnsucht'. Manchmal scheint es leichter sehnsüchtig zu sein als aktiv sein Leben zu gestalten. Man gibt sich absurden Gedanken hin und stellt sich vor, wie alles besser sein könnte. Die Zeit könnte auch konstruktiv für Veränderungen genutzt werden. Oder sind unsere Träume eine Art wichtige Meditation um Veränderungen zu visualisieren bzw. in die Wege zu leiten?
Für die Arbeit wurde ein deutscher Text zum Thema Wort für Wort ins Albanische übersetzt. Der Text besteht aus Konjunktivsätzen, die auf diese wörtliche Art übersetzt, nur wenig Sinn für die Albaner macht. Das Video zeigt einen Weg, der nachts durch Tirana führt. Der Text zieht von rechts nach links durchs Bild. Sowohl Bild als auch Worte verändern ihre Farbe von Grau (Realität) in Rosa (Sehnsucht) und umgekehrt. Der Ton ist ein Loop der Schritte der Künstlerin beim Filmen. Video, Text und Ton verschmelzen zu einer absurden Meditation auf die Schwierigkeit des Abgleichs von Ist und Soll des Lebens.

Nëse is a video work on the theme of 'longing'. Sometimes it seems easier to yearn than to actively shape one's life. We indulge in absurd thoughts and imagine how everything could be better. Time could also be used constructively for change. Or are our dreams a kind of important meditation to visualize or initiate change?

For this work a German text on the topic was translated word for word into Albanian. The text consists of subjunctive sentences which, translated in this literal way, make little sense to Albanians. The video shows a path leading through Tirana at night. The text moves from right to left across the screen. Both image and words change color from gray (reality) to pink (longing) and vice versa. The sound is a loop of the artist's footsteps while filming. Video, text, and sound merge into an absurd meditation on the difficulty of reconciling the "is" and "should" of life.
