...ergo sum

Die Videoinstallation ...ergo sum besteht aus drei Projektionen, welche ein zusammen hängendes Bild ergeben. Die Bildträger werden synchron abgespielt. (Hier finden sich diese drei Bilder zusammengefasst in einem.)
Die Protagonistin sitzt in jedem der drei Bilder am selben Tisch und führt einen Dialog mit sich selbst. Sie erscheint in jedem Bild verschieden. Einmal ist sie ungeschminkt und schwarz gekleidet, einmal erscheint sie als Live-Zuspielung im Fernsehgerät und einmal ist sie geschminkt und bunt bekleidet.
Der Dialog ist assoziativ und steigert sich bis zum Ende in Geschwindigkeit und Inhalt. Obwohl die Gedankengänge eine persönliche Ausgangsbasis haben, bleibt den Betrachterinnen genügend Spielraum zur Identifikation.
Im zweiten und kürzeren Teil der Arbeit löst sich der immer dichter werdende Dialog in Form eines Liedes auf. Die Lied-Ebene besteht aus drei verschiedenen Liedern, bekannt aus der Kindheit. Zur selben Zeit gesungen ergeben sie eine harmonische und humorvolle Vielstimmigkeit. Inhaltlich gibt das Video wieder, was in der Künstlerin selbst oft vorgeht.
Die drei Darstellungsweisen ihres Ichs zeigen einen Ausschnitt ihrer Identitätsvielfalt und ihrer Stimmungen bzw. Befindlichkeiten. Die Inhalte der Lieder beschreiben selbiges in anderer Sprache und Form.

The video installation ...ergo sum consists of three projections that combine to form a single, cohesive image. The projections are played synchronously. (Here, these three images are combined into one.)

In each of the three images, the protagonist sits at the same table and engages in a dialogue with herself. She appears differently in each image. In one she is not wearing make-up and is dressed in black; in another she appears as a live feed on a television; and in yet another she is wearing make-up and is dressed in colorful clothing.

The dialogue is associative and intensifies in both speed and content until the end. Although the thought processes have a personal starting point, viewers are left with ample room for identification.
In the second and shorter part of the work the increasingly dense dialogue dissolves into a song. The song layer consists of three different songs familiar from childhood. Sung simultaneously they create a harmonious and humorous polyphony. In terms of content the video reflects what often goes on within the artist herself.

The three ways of representing herself offer a glimpse into her multifaceted identity and her moods and states of mind. The songs describe the same thing in a different language and form.
