Die Unterhaltungsbranche ist ein Konstrukt aus Perfektion und Fälschung, ''Fake''. Ein besonders tragisches Beispiel dafür ist wohl Michael Jackson. Seine PR-Maschinerie zögert nicht, ihn als ''The King of Pop'' zu bezeichnen. Diese künstliche Identität verschmilzt immer mehr mit dem ''wirklichen'' Leben dieses Stars. Wie ein König zieht er sich in seinen ''Palast'' zurück, da er seit frühester Kindheit in dieser Maschinerie lebt und von ihr verschluckt wird.
Christina Tsilidis entstammt einer Generation, für die Michael Jackson wohl das Vorzeigebeispiel des Popwunders und Superstars darstellt, zu dem man aufblicken kann und an den man beim Satz ''Einmal so tanzen können wie...'' denkt. In der Videoarbeit M.J. begibt sich Christina Tsilidis zurück an den Ort ihrer Kindheit. Sie kopiert Tanzschritte von Michael Jackson und gibt sie improvisiert in einem sechsminütigen Tanz im Elternhaus wieder.

This artificial identity increasingly merges with the "real" life of this star. Like a king he retreats to his "palace" having lived in and been swallowed up by this machine since early childhood.

Christina Tsilidis comes from a generation for whom Michael Jackson is perhaps the quintessential pop phenomenon and superstar, someone to look up to and who comes to mind when one hears the phrase "To be able to dance like..." In her video work M.J. Christina Tsilidis returns to the place of her childhood. She copies Michael Jackson's dance steps and improvises them in a six-minute dance in her parents' house.
